Placed along "Po di Volano" river course, Ferrara has a planning structure which goes up again to XIV century,  when was governed by the family of Este: the drawing, given it by Biagio Rossetti, made it the first modern town of Europe, fact from which its recognition as worldwide property of the humanity derives in wide part.
